Russian Speaking Paralegal
Due to the growth of our busy immigration department, we have an opening for a Russian speaking Paralegal. If you think you fit the description below, we would love to hear from you.
Required skills and qualifications:
- A law degree or equivalent and preferably completion of the LPC or started on a part-time basis
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Fluency in spoken and written Russian
- Previous experience in immigration law matters as a paralegal/legal assistant/caseworker
- Competent IT skills and digital technology use
- Ability to demonstrate a methodical and focused approach with a keen, analytical eye for detail
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure, taking instruction easily to meet strict deadlines
- Self-confidence and an ability to demonstrate initiative while working alone and as part of a team
- An enthusiastic, proactive and can-do attitude
Legal & admin duties:
- Assistance to UK and Australian migration departments
- Filling out immigration forms
- Scheduling electronic documents and creating bundles (Ongoing document management / client files)
- First point of contact for new enquiries (taking clients information, taking notes about their case, passing this on to the fee earner)
- Drafting new articles for the website and reporting on the latest news
- Drafting evidence and documents for UK and Australian migration cases
- Legal research and support to solicitors and other caseworkers
- Drafting letters (assist with client engagement and cover letters)
- Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence daily
- Scanning & photocopying documents for fee earners as and when needed
- Opening new client matters on system (Open new clients on our financial system, emails and document folders. Making sure we have KYC on all clients)
- Archiving closed matters (Making sure all documents are uploaded on to system, shredding hardcopy files, keeping a running list of archived matters)
- Assist with planning events / marketing / updating website
