An Attractive Pathway for Global Talent: The High Potential Individual Visa
The High Potential Individual (HPI) visa is a strategic opportunity for ambitious professionals. The United Kingdom seeks to attract the “brightest and best” graduates from leading global universities, and this visa is a step into that direction.
Why Choose the HPI Visa?
HPI stands out because it offers flexibility. Unlike the skilled worker route, this visa does not tie applicants to a specific sponsor. It makes it an attractive choice for exploring diverse opportunities in the country. Employers are also benefit by HPI as it allows them to avoid the cost and complexity of sponsorship.
Key advantages include:
- Freedom to work or be self-employed.
- Study or volunteer.
- Bringing family members to the UK.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify, applicants must have a degree from a top university on the Global Universities List, awarded to them within the last five years. Their qualification must also meet UK academic standards, verified by Ecctis.
What Happens After?
The HPI visa does not directly lead to settlement. However, it helps create more opportunities to other routes like Global Talent or the Skilled Worker visas, which can lead to permanent residency.
