Mirror Newspapers phone Hacking Litigation

By 24th September 2014 June 27th, 2017 No Comments

Various Claimants v MGN Limited

Mirror Group Newspapers have today admitted for the first time the unlawful interception of voicemail messages and to obtaining call data by deception. This follows years of vigorously denying that any such unlawful conduct had taken place.

They have also for the first time expressed regret and apologised to those Claimants who have been the victims of their unlawful conduct.

Today’s admissions are the start of the process in Mirror Group Newspapers acknowledging its wrongdoing, as these claims are continuing and there are a number of other Claimants who are now seeking to bring actions for both phone hacking and blagging against the organisation.

A hearing is scheduled to take place in relation to these claims on Friday at 10am before Mr Justice Mann and so it would be inappropriate for us to comment further.
